The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested a 20-year-old student of Zambia Business Insurance College (ZIBC) in Lusaka for trafficking in crack cocaine. Nchende Chishimba, a Business studies student was arrested from Barclays Sports Complex when he tried to sale the drug to his fellow students. Chishimba was found with 15 sachets of crack cocaine. Crack cocaine is a highly addictive and powerful stimulant that is derived from powdered cocaine using a simple conversion process. About 10 students from higher institutions


of learning have in the last 12 months been arrested for drug trafficking mainly cocaine. Meanwhile, a Nigerian national possessing a forged Zambian passport and National Registration Card has been arrested in Lilongwe Malawi for trafficking in cocaine and cannabis. Alex Mzeadi Ojukwu was found in possession of an NRC and passport belonging to Boas Matambo which he used to travel to different countries within and outside Africa. Mr. Ojukwu replaced the first page and inserted his photo. Investigations have been instituted to establish how the suspect accessed the documents. And 64 people were in the last six days arrested countrywide for trafficking in different quantities of cannabis with a total weight of 499 kilograms.
