"We are game…. let him now form his own political party and contest the by-election that has been created," he said.

Mr Chilambwe said in an interview yesterday that it was long overdue for the party to expel Mr Mpombo.
He said there is no political party which condones indiscipline by its members.

Mr Chilambwe warned that whoever wants to cause confusion in MMD will be booted out of the ruling party.

He said the MMD on the Copperbelt will not hesitate to discipline erring party members.

MMD Masaiti district chairman Michael Katambo said Mr Mpombo should now prove his popularity by re-contesting the parliamentary by-election.

Mr Katambo said the MMD is prepared for the by-elections and will emerge victorious.

"The party is well organised in Masaiti, we are ready and let Mr Mpombo re-contest the by-election for him to prove his popularity," he said.

When contacted yesterday, Mr Mpombo said he has not yet received his letter of expulsion from the MMD.

Eastern Province MMD chairperson Kennedy Zulu advised Mr Mpompo and Mr Magande to accept their expulsion and meet the ruling party in by-elections.

Mr Zulu said the expulsion is an opportunity for the two MPs to prove their popularity.

He said in an interview yesterday that the ruling party has had enough of the two MPs.

"I want to advise Mr Mpombo and Mr Magande not to take the case of their expulsion to court because they have been daring the party to expel them. So this is the time," Mr Zulu said.

He said the MMD in Eastern Province is happy that the two MMD members have been expelled.

"Mr Mpombo has been disparaging the leadership of our party and pushing it to expel him from the MMD and justice has been done. It will be a laughing matter for Mr Mpombo who claims to be popular to take the matter to court. This applies to Mr Magande," Mr Zulu said.

Southern Province provincial chairman Solomon Muzyamba said the two MPs have been a thorn in the flesh of the ruling party.

Mr Muzyamba said Mr Mpombo and Mr Magande have forced their way out.

He said the MMD in Southern Province is happy that NEC has realised that the two leaders are not adding any value to the wellbeing of the ruling party.

"The two MPs pushed the MMD to extremes. The people of Southern Province have welcomed the stance taken by NEC," Mr Muzyamba said.

Luapula Province provincial secretary David Chitwaka said the expulsion of the two MP is good riddance and long over due.

"Their departure is a welcome development because they failed to comply with party rules and regulations," he said.

Mr Chitwaka said the MMD in Luapula Province fully supports the decision by NEC to offload Mr Mpombo and Mr Magande.

"If they are really political giants as they claimed, let them form their own political parties," he said.
Western Province provincial secretary Provincial Sikwibele Mwapela said the two MPs should look for greener pastures elsewhere.

Mr Mwapela said the MMD in Western Province is delighted with the decision taken by the MMD NEC.

"The MMD is a political party which was built on moral grounds. So members who cannot abide by rules cannot be kept in the party," Mr Mwapela said.

Lusaka province MMD vice provincial chairman Henry Mutiti said the MMD is ready to meet Mr Magande in the political battle field.

Mr Mutiti said the duo used wrong channels to air their grievances.

"Mr Magande and Mr Mpombo were advised to stop issuing retrogressive remarks against the party leadership but they vowed not to stop, so they have themselves to blame," Mr Mutiti said.
